QuoteThis weekend is the 30th anniversary of Mills On The Air.  The weather forecast is looking OK for Saturday now, so I am planning to activate Halnaker Windmill near Chichester in West Sussex.  The callsign will be GB0HNW and there are full details at www.qrz.com/db/GB0HNW  It will be a low power activation as I need to carry all the equipment with me.  Whilst the main focus will be on HF and 40m SSB especially, I will have a modest 145MHz station.  I will call periodically on 145.500MHz and look to QSY to either 145.350 or 145.425 if possible, as both these frequencies are used and monitored locally by various clubs.  All my QSOs during the last 145 Alive from Halnaker were eastwards and westwards along the coast, so I would be especially happy to work anybody who is inland!  73 from Ed M0MNG.

Pease help ED if you can by calling in.

The net was held on Monday, May the 4th 2026 or 'Star Wars' day, and was scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕙 local UK time.

The net can be found on analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any silly access tones or codes. This make's the net open to all comers regardless of radio knowledge or radio owned.

10M Test Net / Re: 10M Test Net
Last post by Razz229 - Apr 29, 2026, 09:45 PM
Hello all

Here is my report for the 7th 10m Test Net held on the warm sunny Saturday afternoon of the 25th of April.

Our set up for the net was the Alinco DX-70, set at 50 watts and, powered by a car battery.
The antenna was the tuned up Solarcon A-99.

The band conditions on the day were noisy with little to no skip.

Once set up and the radio turned on, Toby M0KXU broke in to the conversation already underway.
From our location on Ashdown Forest (not Radio Corner) the net was on.

Here is the list of station who took part.

M7VTK/m - Jonny 5 - Welcome to the net and using his new M7 callsign for the 1st time
M0DGD - James
M9JVQ - Tony
G0OMK - Dave
M7HTZ - "Radar" Ray
2E0ITW - Danny
M6KII - Seana - Welcome to the net and working QRP
M0KXU - Toby
M0KXU - Ray - Under supervision

Even with the poor advertising of the net and the late start, we still had a fair turn out.

Thank you all who called in and, thank you Seana for your kind words & support on what we are doing on 10m.
