Just for those who like sound bites.

				Hello and welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on the 26-06-2025
My location for the net was yet another different and busy car park on Ashdown Forest 🌴, which is in the county of East Sussex about 30 miles or about 48 kilometres south of the capital London.
In busy, I mean there where 2 amateur stations set up working 20 & 40 meters, 1 of which had converted his mast into the antenna!!
The net can be found on channel 39 FCC or the Mid-Block and uses the LSB mode
The weather on the night was warm, clear and breezy outside the car park.
Where I was parked it was shielded from the breeze.
My set up for the night was my trusty old Anytone AT-6666, a car battery 🔋 to power it and a Solarcon A-99 antenna on a 3 meter pole.
The net starts at 8.30pm 🕣 and finishes anytime after 11.00pm 🕚 UK local time.
Now for my list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.
All station are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

My location for the net, was 1 of the many car parks on Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex, which is about 30 miles South of the capital London. The weather was cool and clear with a soft gentle breeze and as the night went on a full was seen rising in he sky.
The net can be found on channel 39 on the CEPT/FCC allocation and uses the mode of LSB.
My set up was my old trusty Anytone AT-6666 (no amps no power mic), powered by a car battery 🔋 and a Solarcon A-99 antenna sending out about 40 watts of peak power.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 Hrs, but tonight it was a bit late due to a visit from Dean CT 1829, Tim GEB 1224 and Andy CT 4610, and finishes anytime from 23:00 Hrs.
The band conditions were noisy with the normal tones, whistles, snap, crackles, pops and Europe being heard.

				Welcome all
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB net held on Thursday 17th of July 2025.
The net can be found on FFC channel 39 or 27.395 MHz and use's the mode of LSB. It is scheduled to start at 20:30 Hrs and can finish anytime from 23:00 Hrs local UK time.
My working conditions were the 9 year old Anytone AT-6666, powered by a car battery 🔋, pushing about 40 watts up some coax and out of a Solarcon/Antron A-99 antenna.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 Hrs and finishes anytime from 23:00 Hrs onwards.
Band condition were a bit strange and as was the weather, Euro and USA were heard but not as strong as previous weeks. As the fog came in, reducing visibility to the other end of the car park, Rod 163 / 26 RU 08 called in and received RS (Radio Signal) reports of 55.
My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex. This is about 35 miles South of the capital London and about 160 miles from Brecon Beacon.

				Hello all and welcome
Yes I'm back
For those who don't know, my van went kaput while on my way to Radio Corner last week, so I was unable to join in or chair the net. As luck would have it, I have been granted the use of a friends car.
Special thanks to John CT 4515 who jumped into the big leather chair and took over, and to the International Rescue Recovery Team who comprised of Dean, Toby, "Radar" Ray, John and Dave 700.
So on with my report for the SSB net held on Thursday 07-08-25.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕚 local UK time. The net can go on for longer if the conditions are right or people stay on past 11 o'clock.
The band conditions were on the low side with Europe being heard at the beginning of the net and stateside being heard at the end of the net.
The net can be found on FCC channel 39 or 27.395 MHz on LSB
I was set up in Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex and my working conditions were the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) and a Sirio Performer 5000 on the car.

				Hello all and greetings
Here is my report for the Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net held on Thursday 14th of August 2025.
The band conditions were unhelpful in running the net, with multiple European voices being heard on all the modes. This could be a reason why the turnout on the night was low.
The net is held on Channel 39 on the mid block or 27.395 MHz on LSB if you have an open up HF radio
My set up for the night was the old Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic), powered by a car battery 🔋 and a Sirio Performer 5000 attached to the roof by a mag mount.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finishes at 23:00 🕚 but can go on depending on conditions and who is on that late at night.
My location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex.

The band conditions for most of the night were horrible, my signal meter was showing a constant 2 bars of noise, snaps, beeps, crackles, tones, pops, and voices from around the world and beyond.
Sorry if you tried and wasn't heard due to the aforementioned conditions.

Thank you all who called, with so much skip about that lasted most of the night, I was pleasantly surprised by all who called and support the net.
If you tried to call in through the skip, and didn't make due to the super strong American stations. Give it another go another week and maybe try a bit later in the might once the skip has calmed down.
Here are the stats for the night.
3 Countries worked
3 American states worked
6 UK counties worked
Not a bad night

				Welcome one & all
Here is my report for the Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net, held on the evening of Thursday 25-09-2025.
My set up for the night was a Sirio Performer 5000 antenna and a older version of the Anytone AT-6666 powered by a car battery 🔋.
I don't use any amp's or power mic's, this reduces the chance of something going wrong or failing.
The weather for the night was cool, clear and breezy.
The band conditions was like last week wall to wall stateside coming in.
My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex. This is about 13 miles Southeast of Gatwick Airport and about 32 miles South of the capital London.
The net is held on FCC channel 39 LSB or 27.395 MHz and is scheduled to start at 20:30 Hrs 🕣. But on this night it started a 21:00 Hrs 🕚 due to my work commitments.
Now on with bit everybody reads.

Stats for the night

Due to the noise and skip, a question was asked. Would the net move to another channel while the skip is up?
What do you think? Should the net have a back up channel/frequency and where should it be.
