Railways on the air (ROTA) weekend usually takes place every year on the weekend closest to the 27th September. This date celebrates the anniversary of the first steam powered passenger railway which took place on 27th September 1825 - the first passenger train ran on a line in the North East of England from Darlington to Stockton. Bishop Auckland Amateur Radio Club coordinates this event.
Our 2026 event will run on the weekend of 26th and 27th September.

Hi Tony
Sounds great . Do you what frequencies they will be on or have missed by not really reading it LOL ::)
They operate all over the bands John :) , I believe some will also do FT8.
I will use Rusty Cluster in SMP as you can select 'Railways' which should help a lot.
I managed to get 6 ROTA stations in my log on Sat'
1) MS0LIV - Model Engineering Centre, Livingstone. Scotland.
2) GB4EKR - East Kent Railway. Nr Dover.

You didn't get the Bluebell Railway, unless it didn't take part?
