The net can be found on analogue channel 14 or 446.16875 MHz and doesn't use any kind of codes or tones. This makes it open to anybody with any kind of radio.

Successful experiment of the night was Ratty 248.
With his normal set up he was unable to work the Hastings, after a bit of thought, an extra pole was found and his antenna was raised about another meter, and Ta-Dah! Hastings was heard and worked 👍😀

Thank you to the "BAND Police 🚔" (you know who you are) for the nee-naw nee-naw sounds when there was any mention of more then 0.5 watts, removeable antenna's and WFM being used. It's good to know that as responsible radio operators we do our utmost best to keep within the spirit of the guide lines.

That about brings this episode to an end, let me know if you spot a mistake or 2 😉

My set up for the night, was the CRT Space U powered by car battery 🔋 and the 1/4 wave "Sputnik" antenna up on a 4 and a bit meter pole.

The weather on the night was hot and sticky with a gentle breeze. The temperature at the start off the night was 27.8 degrees C, fell to 20 degrees C while the net was on and 21 degrees C at the end.

Before the net started, some stations had a chance to work Philip near Cherbourg in France (14 Division)

So with when, where, what time and Happy Birthday 🎂🎈🎉🍷 to Witchy Women covered.

Hi all and welcome

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night Channel 14 South Coast PMR net held on the night of 7th of July 2025.

or

"Grumpy people should keep their mouths shut when whinging on the radio, because those they are whinging about could be listening"

My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex, which is about 3 miles to the West of Crowborough, the once home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The net can be found on the one four (not the CB 14 calling channel), but PMR analogue channel 14 or 446.16875 MHz. We don't use any kind of access codes or DCS/CTCSS tones, this makes the net open to all.
YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HAVE A CALLSIGN OR HANDLE TO JOIN IN. Just patience if it's busy or there is a "LIFT" on.

My set up was the CRT SPACE U powered by a car battery 🔋, and a homemade 1/4 wave antenna on a pole swaying in the breeze

The weather was clear giving all on Radio Corner a sunset worthy of a picture or 2 and cooled with a gentle breeze.
As the net progressed through the night, the 3/4 moon 🌔 moved from the East to West chasing the sun from the sky.

Before my list of who called in, the net is scheduled to start at 20:30 Hrs 🕣 and finish at 23:00 Hrs 🕚, but, it can go on to midnight and sometime beyond.

Now we know the when, where and what time. It's time to list the check in's and who heard and or worked who.

So in no order. . . . .

"How long to the PMR Net anniversary?"

The net was held on PMR analogue 14 and does not use any kind of access or privacy tones.
This makes it easier for anybody to call in (even the clowns 🤡, keyer's and the IQ 0'S, who try to spoil it), no matter what radio you own, your knowledge or experience, and you don't have to have a callsign or handle, just use your name and town your in.

My set up was the CRT SPACE U powered by a car battery 🔋, cooled by an old computer fan and transmitting about 13 watts up some coax and into a home made 1/4 wave antenna on a fibreglass pole.

The weather in Radio Corner was clear, cool and breezy making it a pleasant night for radio. the 3/4 Waning Moon 🌖 was visible.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕚 local UK time. If you tune in early and call out, you could be heard and join in the pre-net chat

As stated earlier in the review. My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex, which is about 30 miles South of the capital London.

Well goodness gracious me

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night South Coast PMR Net. Held on Monday 28th of July 2025

or

"What happens when the Chair arrives late and doesn't join in?"

The weather in Radio Corner was cool overcast and nothing like a July summer evening, but, some of us still wore our shorts!

The net normally starts at 20:30 Hrs 🕣 and goes on until 23:00 Hrs 🕚 or beyond depending on who is on and the band conditions.

My location for the night was a busy Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex

The net is found on analogue channel 14 and is CTCSS, BHS, RAC, KFC and Privacy tone free. Not using any of these tones means the net is open to all. It doesn't matter the brand of radio, your knowledge or even if you have amateur licence, just set the radio to NFM, have a listen or call in.

My set up for the night was, not set up!

I arrived late due to work and decided to have an evening chatting to all the Radio Corner regulars. Which made a pleasant change and caused some to make unnecessary comments.

Here is the incomplete list of people I know were heard on the net

Well done to Dean CT 1829 who seemed to enjoy his time in the chair but did say I could have it back.
Thank you all who called in and if I have missed you off the log, let me know and I can add you.

Sorry if you did try to call in and wasn't heard, it was a different night with no real format, just call in, say hello and join the chat.

A more normal service should be broadcast next week

Hello & welcome

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night South Coast PMR net, held on Monday 18th of August 2025

Did you know that on this date in history

"Fire, by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, was at number 1 in the UK charts"

After that trip down memory pop pickers, on with review

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any codes or tones to gain access and have the radio's set to NFW.

My set for the night was the £1 mag mount and the CRT SPACE U powered by a car battery 🔋. It is a bit basic but did get me Cambridgeshire on the night.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕚, but, sometimes if the conditions are right, it can go on until early Tuesday morning.

My location was, can you guess? Yep, Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex were the weather was cool, overcast but did clear later to reveal the stars and the odd satellite flying by.

Enough of the when, where, why and what time and on with the bit almost everybody skips to. The list of who checked in and who heard and or worked who.

Well hello there, how you doing?

Now for a public service announcement on behalf of the Monday Night Channel 14 South Coast PMR Net

CQ CQ CQ, calling all stations in the East side of Kent. Neil CT 5159 will be over towards Ashford for the net to be held on the 13th of October. Give him a call on channel 14 and keep him company.

Now on with another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night PMR Net, held on the 6th of October 2025.

Did you know the top 3 finishers in the US Grand Prix held on this date in 1968, were John Surtees in 3rd place, Graham Hill in 2nd place and Jackie Stewart in 1st place 🏁.

My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex, where the sky was clear, temperature was mild and the breeze kept the clouds at bay allowing Radio Corner to be bathed in the light of the full Moon 🌕

The net run's from 20:30 Hrs 🕣, but people are often chatting before then, and finishes anytime from 23:00 Hrs 🕚 UK time

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any tones or codes for access. This makes the net accessible to all, regardless of radio knowledge or experience.
Even the IQ-Zero Village Idiots 🤡

My set up for the night was the CRT Space U powered by an old car battery 🔋 and a home made 1/4 wave "Sputnik" antenna on a pole.
