Yeah it's been mad the last few days, just spoke with Colin 108db52 Aberdeen, funny thing is, last night I couldn't hear the person that the Scottish station was talking to near Gatwick but Scotland was 5/9 +. The SSB net will be an interesting one this eve!

It's often the case that you can hear distant stations but not those a few miles away. I wonder if it's partly due to you having a horizontal/'V' type antenna, verticals are generally better for local stations.

As for the SSB net last night, I had so much static (S7) that I only heard two stations the strongest was KP441 near Steyning & Ray at Radio Corner who was just making it over the noise!
