SURPRISE!

Here is the 2nd (and occasional) Tuesday morning birthday net report.

After the PMR anniversary net had finished, some of us stayed on and wished Graham GM 594 birthday wishes.

Those who were there know who they are

Happy birthday to Graham

Hello all and welcome

Here is the 1st episode of "Ray Reviews" of the 11th year of the South Coast PMR net. This net was sponsored by BISCUITS 🍪

The net can be found on PMR analogue channel 14 (446.16875 MHz) and doesn't use any kind of CTCSS, DCS, privacy or access tones. This makes the net open to all, even the IQ0 village idiots.

My set up for the night was the £1 pound mag mount and the CRT SPACE U powered by a car battery 🔋

Net is scheduled to start at 20:30 or eight thirty 🕣 in the evening and finishes anytime form 23:00 or eleven o'clock 🕚 onwards

My location was the Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex. For new readers that is POTA ref GB-0251 or is it GB-0095?

The weather was cold, clear, and lucky for us we only had gusty winds from the storm.

So with the when, where, what time, why and the weather recorded. On with the bit most people want to see & read.
The check in's and who heard and worked who.

Thank you all who called in and to the listening station. If you are a listening station, why not take the next step and call in? You don't need a callsign or CB handle, just something like Windy Miller, Camberwick Green, Trumptonshire as an example.

Now here is a change for you, my favourite reader, to suggest any changes or ideas that could be added to future  episodes of "Ray Reviews"

That about brings this episode of "Ray Reviews" to an end.

My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex, the home of Winnie the Pooh

By the end of the night, the clouds had cleared, the Moon had vanished behind the horizon and the sky was full of stars

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any tones or codes. Why? So it is open to all.

Working conditions were the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋, and a "Sputnik" 1/4 wave antenna up on a fibre glass pole.

Here is the important list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Now for the bit that everybody really really wants. The stats

4 counties worked
4 shooting stars seen (not surprising as it is the time of year for them)
Best handy to handy contact was approximately 25 miles or 40 kilometres

Here is a public service announcement.
Don't forget to put the empty milk bottles out
Make sure the dog has been feed
and

My location for the night was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex, where the sky was clear, temperature was mild and the breeze kept the clouds at bay allowing Radio Corner to be bathed in the light of the full Moon 🌕
