Hello Mountain Mike 178CT009
It was great to hear you from your little hill LOL. Shame I could not get back to you. I was having lighting in the skies around me so I was only on a mag mount on the car. We will have better luck next time.
Would there be any chance of a rough Grid square of you transmitting location. It would be another great pin in the map .

178ct009 calling just a brief bio on myself I used to live in Crawley and do the nets regularly formerly TM3006 then moved to Brighton and didn't get out much on the radio. I finally pulled my finger out and set radio up in car and done a few nets but like ray working over 10 hours a day took it toll on me. I don't know how u do it every week Ray I salute you sir. Moved from Brighton to South West Bulgaria and before I left the UK treated myself to a Ft891 new power supply and brought everything over to Bulgaria after spending a lot of time renovating my place here and finally getting it sorted iv time for radio and really enjoy getting up the mountains in Bulgaria and making contact with 26 division so to id like to thank everyone for there patience and trying to contact me conditions are tuff at night here day time it's alive Id like to say hello to Graham OM And to richy and rue reigate Hill I'll keep trying form 178 and hope to make contact with you all.my favorite contacts is definitely 26 division. I'll be ordering a beam as soon as i can to help.i normally set up early because we're 2 hours ahead of you guys and as I'm up in the mountains and it's very late and nearest village is 2 miles away there risk of bears and wolfs in the forests where I go 😱 any good luck to everyone and and 73s from 178ct009 mountain Mike 👍🙏

Hello all and welcome

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night, South Coast PMR Net.

My QTH for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex.
The scheduled start time is 20:30 🕣 time and finish time is from 23:00 🕚 onwards UK time.

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14, with the radio's set to NFM. We don't use any CTCSS, DCS tones or codes, which makes the net open to all. Whether you are new or just listening to the net.

My set up was. . . . . . not mine.

General Discussion / Re: Partial Eclipse
Last post by Razz229 - Aug 16, 2026, 10:01 AM
I was in Penzance for the 1999 eclipse.

I remember the sky getting darker, the Seagulls and all the birds going quiet, and the temperature rapidly dropping

Then after the height of the eclipse, as the moon slowly revealed the sun, the birds came to life, things warmed up and everything got back to normal, the world didn't end 😃

Here are a couple of my photos taken through a welding glass.

Hence the green tint.
