Hello, welcome and good day to you.

Here it is, another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night Channel 14 PMR Net, held on the evening of 11/05/2026

My working conditions were the CRT SPACE U, powered by a car battery 🔋, and the "Dean" made Di-pole up on a fibreglass pole.

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any of those privacy, CTCSS or dumb tones that you see advertised on these radio's, making some people think their messages are secret and secure. Which we all know are not!

My location for the net was, as always, Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex. Which is about midway between London and the South Coast.

The net is scheduled to start at, or as close to, 20:30 🕣 and goes on to 23:00 🕙 or beyond. It has been known for the net to become the Tuesday Morning PMR net.

The weather for the night was Sunny with some scattered cloud, that cleared to show a bright star filled night sky, which caused the temperature to drop close to freezing.

With all when's, why's and wherefores out the way. On with the list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

I saw this and thought it would be a good excuse to get on the air, especially while out walking, Tiles On The Air. I think it's very new, you basically activate anywhere based on grid squares, you get points for activities like distance walked to the location where you activate the grid, etc. Although designed to be portable and get out and about, you can still activate mobile from a vehicle, you'll get less points from a vehicle but it still counts, extra points for QRP, less points for things like FT8, and so on. As I say looks very new and hardly anything activated yet, but if you're interested head over to https://tilesontheair.com/ Let us know if you give it a go.

QuoteThis weekend is the 30th anniversary of Mills On The Air.  The weather forecast is looking OK for Saturday now, so I am planning to activate Halnaker Windmill near Chichester in West Sussex.  The callsign will be GB0HNW and there are full details at www.qrz.com/db/GB0HNW  It will be a low power activation as I need to carry all the equipment with me.  Whilst the main focus will be on HF and 40m SSB especially, I will have a modest 145MHz station.  I will call periodically on 145.500MHz and look to QSY to either 145.350 or 145.425 if possible, as both these frequencies are used and monitored locally by various clubs.  All my QSOs during the last 145 Alive from Halnaker were eastwards and westwards along the coast, so I would be especially happy to work anybody who is inland!  73 from Ed M0MNG.

Pease help ED if you can by calling in.

Hello & welcome

It's time for another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night, Channel 14 PMR Net.

The net was held on Monday, May the 4th 2026 or 'Star Wars' day, and was scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕙 local UK time.

My equipment used on the night was the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋 and the "Dean" made Di-Pole up on a fibreglass pole.

The net can be found on analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any silly access tones or codes. This make's the net open to all comers regardless of radio knowledge or radio owned.
If you are a listening station thinking of calling in and are worried that you don't have a callsign, don't, callsigns are optional, just use your name or nickname.

My location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex, were the weather was still, dark and cloudy and threatening rain at any moment.

Now on with the check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Lima 93 - Luke - Ashdown 🌳 Forest - East Sussex 🥇
Caz 95 - Caz - Ashdown 🌳 Forest - East Sussex - Shotgun with Luke and keeper of "Puppy" 🥇

Some fun was had by Luke, John, Toby, R J, Dean, and Matt in the Garage making contact with each other using 1/2 a watt or less.

Now for the Scores on the Doors
