Welcome and good day to you

Here it is, another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night Channel 14 PMR Net.
A net held on the evening of Monday 27-04-2026.

My location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex, were the weather was still near the ground, but the clouds moved lazily across the sky allowing the Waxing Gibbous Moon 🌔 to shine down.

The net is scheduled to start at about 20:30 🕣, give or take 10 minutes and goes on to 23:00 🕙 or beyond.

My working conditions for the net were the CRT SPACE U, powered by a car battery 🔋 and the "Dean" made Di-pole up on a fibreglass pole.

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any of those silly CTCSS codes or tones and is open to all.
It doesn't matter if you don't have a callsign, you are welcome. Doesn't matter if you have a cheap Chinese radio, you are welcome. Doesn't matter if you are a experienced radio user or new, you are welcome.

Hello all

Here is my report for the 7th 10m Test Net held on the warm sunny Saturday afternoon of the 25th of April.

Our set up for the net was the Alinco DX-70, set at 50 watts and, powered by a car battery.
The antenna was the tuned up Solarcon A-99.

The band conditions on the day were noisy with little to no skip.

Once set up and the radio turned on, Toby M0KXU broke in to the conversation already underway.
From our location on Ashdown Forest (not Radio Corner) the net was on.

Here is the list of station who took part.

M7VTK/m - Jonny 5 - Welcome to the net and using his new M7 callsign for the 1st time
M0DGD - James
M9JVQ - Tony
G0OMK - Dave
M7HTZ - "Radar" Ray
2E0ITW - Danny
M6KII - Seana - Welcome to the net and working QRP
M0KXU - Toby
M0KXU - Ray - Under supervision

Even with the poor advertising of the net and the late start, we still had a fair turn out.

Thank you all who called in and, thank you Seana for your kind words & support on what we are doing on 10m.

CB & PMR446 / Well that was unexpected!
Last post by CT4013 - Apr 25, 2026, 09:36 PM
Solent Radio Net has restarted on Ch14 PMR Saturday 8-9pm, I managed two contacts. Rob in Ryde IOW R5 and all 10 bars also Paul in Gosport R4 & 4/5 bars.
The voice of France 'Philippe' went right over the top of Rob a few times, I asked Philippe to stand by but he fired up again asking me to slow down as he couldn't understand me. ::)  ???

Both Rob & Paul said they will try Monday evening for our Net. Rob should be good as he runs a beam so listen out guys.

5 counties worked
4 stations using hand held's
2 Coffee's drunk

Thank you all who called or checked in, sorry if you tried and wasn't heard, please try again.
When calling in, try saying more than just "Q, on the side or QSK", maybe added your name, handle or 11m callsign. This will help the chair identify you over other "Q, on the side or QSK" stations

That, I think, brings this episode of "Ray Reviews" to an end
