Last post by Razz229 - Jul 04, 2026, 10:46 PM
Hello and welcome

On a hot Saturday evening I was set up in Radio Corner to celebrate the 12th anniversary of legal AM & SSB in the UK.
My working conditions were the Alinco DX-70 set at 50 watts and the Solarcon A-99 antenna.

I started off on AM at about 18:00 UK time, calling out on channel 14, competing with the rest of Europe.

Here is the list of stations who called/checked in.

1. CT 940 - Richard - Reigate Hill - Surrey
2. CT 5363 - Shaggy - Ashdown Forest - East Sussex
3. CT 700 - Dave - Crawley Down - West Sussex
4. UK 175 - Wayne - Wadhurst - East Sussex
5. KP 441 - Steve - Henfield - West Sussex

After 2 hours on AM, I moved over to channel 39 LSB to continue the celebration

1. 178 CT 009 - Mike - Bulgaria
2. GE 2020 - Matt - Fairlight - East Sussex
3. CT 4013 - Tony - Brighton - East Sussex
4. 13 WL 25 - Michi - Near Nuremberg - Germany
5. CT 4627 - Steve - Reigate Hill - Surrey
6. CT 940 - Richard - Reigate Hill - Surrey
7. KP 441 - Steve - Henfield - West Sussex - Working QRP
8. CT 5363 - Shaggy - Lewes - East Sussex
9. JWY 01 - Jason - Tonbridge - Kent
10. Pete - Tonbridge - Kent
11. UK 175 - Wayne - Wadhurst - Kent
12. DT 372 - John - Pinner - Northwest London
13. XR 41 - Jerry - Hailsham - East Sussex
14. GCB 159 - Paul - Jarvis Brook - East Sussex - Mobile
15. JS 7 - James - Rochester - Kent
16. 31 JU 87 - Armando - Lisbon - Portugal
17. 31 MIKE 05 - Miguel - Tomar - Portugal

Not a bad turn out as I was up against heavy Euro skip and England playing in the World Cup.

Thank you all who called in to celebrate the anniversary and maybe we will meet again for the next 1

Last post by Razz229 - Jul 03, 2026, 09:32 PM
Well hello and welcome

Will this be the week that "on this day in history/did you know" returns?

Here is another "Ray Reviews" the South Coast, Channel, 14 Monday Night PMR Net, held on the 29th of June 2026

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 or 446.16875 MHz NFM and is open to all. We don't use any of the those codes or tones making it east to listen in and it's simple to join in, you don't need any kind of callsign or handle.

My set up for the net was the CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋 and the "Dean" made Di-pole antenna up on a pole.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 UK time, but due to work commitments I didn't get on until 21:00. The finishing time for the net is 23:00 🕚, but it can sneak over into Tuesday morning.

My location for the evening, was a cooler Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex. There was some cloud about, but the light wind kept it moving allowing the 100% Full Moon 🌕 to shine down.

Now on with the who heard and or worked who.

CT 2207 - Neil - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex 🥇
TC 614 - Tim - Hailsham - East Sussex
Dragon Slayer 1 - Prue - Surrey
CT 940 - Richard - Reigate Hill - Surrey - Shotgun with Prue and polishing her armour
CT 5159 - Neil - Hastingleigh - Kent
CT 3466 - "Radar" Ray - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex
Craig - Horsham - West Sussex
CT 4627 aka Joker - Steve - Reigate Hill - Surrey
Tango 187 - Toby - Crowborough - East Sussex - With M1KA 🐶, Radio Corner K9 security 🚨
CT 1829 - Dean - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex
CT 1074 - Mike - Devils Dyke - West Sussex
Lorraine - Devils Dyke - West Sussex - Trying to keep Mike under control
CT 5502 - Paul - Outwood - Surrey - Working a handy in the garden
CT 4610 - Andy - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex - 1st location of the night
GE 167 - Murphy - Eastbourne - East Sussex
Charlie - Lewis - East Sussex - Working a handy in the garden

MB 01 - Marshal on a Bike - Reigate Hill - Surrey
CT 3678 - Dave - Bedham - West Sussex
Rob - Rye - East Sussex - Worked by Neil CT 5159
C V M - Nigel - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex
Matt in the Bakery 🍞🥐🥨 - Forest Row - East Sussex - Using a handy
CT 4013 - Tony - Brighton - East Sussex
CT 5363 - Shaggy - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex
Speed Bird - Russell - Reigate Hill - Surrey
CT 5480 - Jonny 5 - Plumpton - East Sussex
CT 4610 - Andy - Horley - Surrey
and me
CT 2290 - Ray - Ashdown 🌲 Forest - East Sussex - In the Chair 💺

Thank you to the listening stations and all who called in. You make the net what it is and, without you there would be no net. So everybody take a bow.
Sorry to those who tried calling in and wasn't heard, please give it another go, we would like to hear you and get you in the log.

Now for the Scores on the Doors

2 Ladies on the net
0 Coffees drunk
26 in the log
0 London boroughs worked
4 Counties worked
3 or more stations using hand held's

That brings this episode of "Ray Reviews" to an end

Thank you for

STOP, HOLD ON, WAIT A MINUTE

Did you know that on this date in history, using the old "Julian" calendar system, there was an assignation attempt on Ra Ra Rasputin.
