Amateur / Bands chaotic this evening.
Last post by M9JVQ - Jul 01, 2026, 11:38 PM
I did manage a short QSO with Jonny 5s on 7.134 about 22:15 local, 59 both ways at the start. Soon went downhill & I virtually lost Jonny with QSB & another Op fired up on a close frequency. ::)

He seems to be enjoying Cornwall, I hope he manages a few good contacts whilst :) down there.

Is it me, or does the 10m Test Net come round really quickly?

It only seems like a couple of weeks when we had the last one and it's time the the end of June net report.

So for the those that don't know, my normal supervisor was away for the weekend so, John M7 RLP made a long and dangerous journey up from Brighton to Radio Corner, to sit with me and slap me behind the head when I got it wrong! 🤪

Staying true to the name, we set up 2 antenna's and made comparisons between my Solarcon A99 configured for 10m and John's purpose built T2LT.

Sadly when we tuned into 28.350, the frequency was busy with 2 super strong European stations. A quick tune up and down the band and the best spot was 28.340. We listened and called out if the frequency was in use and heard silence. The net was then underway.

Here is the list of who called in.

M0 DGD - James
M9 JVQ - Tony
M1 AMY - Wayne
M7 XRI - Jerry
DA 2 K - Joe - Germany 👍
IW 1 ANW - Giancarlo - Italy 👍
M7 TYM/m - Tim
M7 RLP - John - Supervisor
M7 RLP - Ray - Under supervision

Special mention for "Mountain" Mike from Bulgaria M7 ROE who sat on a hill listening and reporting in (via text)

The net did end just after 17:00 UK time.

Another great net with a bit of Europe joining in

CB & PMR446 / Log, Map & Track CB Contacts

A new Logbook & much more for CB radiocbradiologbook.com
I have registered & filed in my details and am impressed. A lot of thought has obviously been put into it, why not at least have a look! 8)

QuoteA little milestone for CB Radio Logbook. We're now up to 154 operators, with 93 active this week, 164 contacts logged, and the first few nets and events starting to appear. It's great to see the community slowly coming to life—thanks to everyone who's been getting involved.

CB Radio Logbook is a free online platform and companion app designed for Citizens Band (CB) radio operators to log, map, and track their radio contacts (QSOs). It allows you to digitally record details like callsigns, handles, locations, channels, and signal reports while mapping your signal range.Key features include:Contact Logging: Keep a searchable, digital record of your communications instead of carrying a paper logbook.Visual Mapping: Plot your transmission distances on a map to see exactly how far your radio signals travel.Station Management: Organize your equipment setups, track QSL cards, and manage your operator contacts all in one place.

I think I clicked on the link, tried understanding the calculator and dives in to that and forgot to give it a thumbs up and reply. Looks like an interesting antenna, haven't seen this before. Have you had any more luck with it, how do you recon it preforms compared to
Something like a Sputnik ground wave antenna?
