Hello Everyone

As I have many problems with making a standard 1/4 wave antenna to get Vswr below 2.2 . I thought sod it and go for something completely mad and try this . Most make it for 430 MHz Satellites etc. So with a tweak or two . This one is at the moment Vswr of 1.79. A little more golden screw driver maybe I will get lucky.
Any way here is a pic . Wish me luck .

South Coast PMR net / Re: Monday PMR Net
Last post by Razz229 - Jun 16, 2026, 11:00 PM
Hello to all the aliens 👽, in outer space 🛸, hearing the strange voices on UHF

Welcome to to another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night, Channel 14, South Coast PMR net, held on the 15th of June 2026.

My set up for the net was the trusty CRT SPACE U, powered by a car battery 🔋, and the "Dean" made Dui-pole up on a pole.

The start time for the net is scheduled to start at 20:30 BST 🕣 and finishes anytime from 23:00 BST 🕚 onwards.

My location for the net, was a cool, Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest (Maidenhead Grid locator JO-01-BB) in the county of East Sussex were the cloud was high and the breeze was gentle.

The net can be found on PMR analogue 14 and doesn't use any kind of DCS, CTCSS tones to gain access. This makes the net open to all.

Now the when, where and what time has been disclosed to the aliens of the galaxy, on with my list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Hello and welcome

Yes I've done it again. I headed up to a hill in day light so I could join with the Southeast Sunday Morning SSB Net.

The net was on the 14/06/2026 and is chaired by James JS 7, it can be found on FCC/Mid-Block channel 28 (27.285 MHz) on USB. It starts from 10:00 and runs to 11:30 - 12:00 Midday.

I headed up to Maidenhead Grin location JO-01-BF-78 or York Hill in Kent, and set up the Alinco DX-70 powered by a car battery and Solarcon A-99.

I was a bit late calling in, so missed the Spanish station being passed round, but overall it was a great morning for chat local and DX.

Here is my list of stations I worked. There must have been 3 times or more stations on the net.

TWR 180 - Trevor - Rochester - Kent
