Hello all and greetings

Here is my report for the Southern Area and South Coast SSB Net held on Thursday 14th of August 2025.

The band conditions were unhelpful in running the net, with multiple European voices being heard on all the modes. This could be a reason why the turnout on the night was low.

The net is held on Channel 39 on the mid block or 27.395 MHz on LSB if you have an open up HF radio

My set up for the night was the old Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic), powered by a car battery 🔋 and a Sirio Performer 5000 attached to the roof by a mag mount.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finishes at 23:00 🕚 but can go on depending on conditions and who is on that late at night.

My location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex.

Now on with the check in's & who worked and or heard who.

Well well well

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Channel 14 Monday Night PMR Net, held on Monday 11th of August 2025

or did you know that

"Space Oddity by David Bowie was released on this date back in 1969"

My location for the night was, not surprisingly if you are a regular reader, Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex. The weather on the night was cool and overcast

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 (446.16875 MHz) and we don't use any of those tones or codes to be able to join in.

My working conditions were the £1 mag mount and a CRT Space U powered by a car battery 🔋

The net starts at 8.30pm 🕣, but you can sometimes find some on before having a pre-net chat, the net finishes at 11pm 🕚 but can go until midnight and beyond.

Now on with the list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Hello all and welcome

Yes I'm back

For those who don't know, my van went kaput while on my way to Radio Corner last week, so I was unable to join in or chair the net. As luck would have it, I have been granted the use of a friends car.

Special thanks to John CT 4515 who jumped into the big leather chair and took over, and to the International Rescue Recovery Team who comprised of Dean, Toby, "Radar" Ray, John and Dave 700.

So on with my report for the SSB net held on Thursday 07-08-25.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish at 23:00 🕚 local UK time. The net can go on for longer if the conditions are right or people stay on past 11 o'clock.

The band conditions were on the low side with Europe being heard at the beginning of the net and stateside being heard at the end of the net.

The net can be found on FCC channel 39 or 27.395 MHz on LSB

I was set up in Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex and my working conditions were the Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) and a Sirio Performer 5000 on the car.

Now on with my list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Ey up lads n lasses

Here another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night Channel 14 South Coast PMR Net, held on Monday 04-08-2025

or

"Only 5 weeks until the 10th anniversary of the net"

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 or eight thirty in the evening, but if you turn on early, you may find some of the early birds on chatting about this n that.
The net will finish at 23:00 🕚 or eleven o'clock. BUT, it does sometimes go on till late.

My location for the night was a quiet Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex which is near the location of Pooh Bridge.

The net is on PMR analogue channel 14 with the radio set for NFM and doesn't use any of those access or privacy codes or tones. This makes the net open to all, young or old, new or experience, with or without a licence.

My working conditions was the CRT SPACE U powered by a car battery 🔋 and the £1 mag mount.

Even with the winds of Storm Floris, a 3/4 moon 🌔 could be seen while the clouds zipped across the sky.

With all the when, where and what time out the way, on with the bit that interests most people.
The list of check in's and who heard and or worked who.

Thank you all who called in and a special thumb up to those who headed to the hills in spite of Floris.
Sorry if you tried to call in and wasn't heard, there was an occasional other user on the channel which was coming in on the tropo.

Here is the "Fun with Figures" part

20 in the log
4 counties worked
3 on walkie Talkies
2 new stations in the log
1 coffee drunk
1 play of the "end of net" tune
0 biscuits eaten

That bring this episode to an end, thank you for reading and have you spotted a mistake or been left out of the log? Let me know and I will correct it.
