Hello and G'day to all

Welcome to  this episode of "Ray Reviews" the 11th anniversary of the Monday Night, South Coast, Channel 14 PMR net, held on Monday 7th of September 2026.

My location for the anniversary net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex.
Ashdown Forest is part of High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Protection Area (SPA), Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and is listed as a Nature Conservation Review site.
But Ashdown 🌳 Forest is best known for being the home of Winne the Pooh thanks to the artwork of E H Shepard and the stories of A A Milne.

The net is scheduled to start 20:30 🕣 and finishes at 23:00 🕚 UK time, but sometimes it can go later. . .

My working conditions were the CRT Space U, powered by a car battery and the "Dean" made Di-pole up on a fibreglass pole.

If you are a regular of the net, or read these "Ray Reviews", you will know that Neil CT 5159 like to do an anniversary challenge. This year he again raised the bar.

Thank you and well done to Neil (CT 5159), who did it again, and completed another PMR anniversary challenged.
This time he covered approximately 130 mile from home to home and activated both the North & South Downs and popped in to Radio Corner for a piece of Colin the Caterpillar cake 🍰.

Thank you to Toby (Tango 187), for the said Colin the Caterpillar cake and cups of Coffee.



Thank you to Mark (London Calling) who acted as a link between the PMR net and the Lima Tango Network on 27.365 LSB, allowing a chance to get our net into the log and visa versa.

Thank you all who called or checked in, without you there would be no net and sorry if you tried and wasn't heard, it was a busy night.

Many fighters tonight like yesterday

Thanks Ray, for running the 11th Anniversary net on the 7th.

I can see why John uses Ditchling beacon. In my "Downs Dash" I made 18 contacts from there on the net (plus another 5 on another channel pre net!) I managed to top this up with 2 more from Detling as the net was closing down.

130 miles driven, transmitting from both South and North downs in one net, even had time to stop for a slice of anniversary cake at the Ashdown forest car park Furthest contact of the night Ditchling Beacon to Martin in Epping 56 miles away.

All very tiring but 25 contacts made it all well worth the effort.

Thanks again Ray. (now what the hell am i going to to next year!!!)

It's getting back to normal over my location today, it was very quiet yesterday.

3 net controllers all in different area's adding their contacts together, 50+ in the log easy-peasy

The Tuesday net on CH16 appears to have 3 controllers on high ground.
Controllers can be heard on the Jodrell 2 SDR which is HERE
