South Coast PMR net / Re: Monday PMR Net
Last post by Razz229 - May 23, 2026, 12:16 PM
Hello & greetings

Here is another episode of "Ray Reviews" the Monday Night, Channel 14 PMR Net, held on 18/05/2026

The net is held on PMR analogue channel 14 and doesn't use any DCS, CTCSS tones or codes.
It starts at about 20:30 pm 🕣 and finishes anytime from 11:00 pm 🕙 onwards.

My location and working conditions for the net was a cool, cloudy, windy Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex and I was using the battery 🔋 powered CRT Space U pushing about 15ish watts out the "Dean" made di-pole on a fibreglass pole.

Before we move on to the list of check in's and who worked and or heard who.

A special message to Wayne Kerr, thank you for the CTCSS tune you kept playing, it was entertaining to the few who could hear it, and please remember, if you spend that much time and effort trying to disrupt the net, your a fan of what we do!

Last post by M9JVQ - May 18, 2026, 07:31 PM
Over four days in May and June, Humber Fortress DX Amateur Radio Club is playing its part in raising awareness for men's mental health. Club members will be operating special call sign GB0MMH, and they are inviting radio amateurs to make contact. As the club says, let's break the silence one transmission at a time.

Good on you Jonny, you have certainly dived into ham radio fast.

I have to wonder if whoever chose 'Tiles' on the air thought it through, there is already a 'TOTA' (Towers on the air) see: https://wwtota.com/rules/

John 4515 mentioned it to me a while back.

Who knows if this will take off or not, activated my first tile and first activator in the UK, I was only mobile, so not many point as no extra activity like hiking, but a mobile activation still counts. Was also my first successful CQ on 20m with a contact from Italy.
