Hello and welcome

Here is a different episode of "Ray Reviews".

This episode is of my time on the Stay Prepped Radio Net 446 (the biggest PMR net in the UK) held the on evening of Sunday 24/05/2026 and is held on analogue channel 8.

Due to the coverage area of the net being more North Kent and Essex, I choose the location of Ide Hill which, I hoped would put me in a better position to take part in the net.

At 19:00, I started calling out and was greeted by campers chatting away about food, dressing up and getting back to camp ASAP.

After 2 hours of calling out on channel 8, I made 1 contact with Mark aka London Calling in East London.

I'm going to give another go next week from a different location to see if I can make a few more contacts and get my name in the log.

Well hello

Here is another episode of "Ray Review's" the Stay Prepped Radio Net 446, the biggest PMR net in the UK. The net was held on Sunday 31/05/2026 and starts at 19:00 Hrs UK time

7 days have gone by, and everybody is asking, did I make more contacts than last week and did I get my name in the log of the "STAY PREPPED RADIO NET 446 the biggest PMR net in the UK"?

Well lets start of with my working conditions, this was my normal set up used for the Monday Night Net. It consisted of the Battery powered CRT SPACE U and the "Dean" made Di-pole up on the fibreglass pole.

My location was Polhill, near Fort Halstead which is in Maidenhead location Square JO-01-BH

I called out on channel 8 just after 7 o'clock pm and heard a load of white noise. I moved up to channel 14 and called out, hoping that someone would hear me and lucky for me, I was answered by Mark London Calling. After a brief chat, we moved down to channel 8 and called out.

This time we were answered by Keith in Canvey Island.

After 90 minutes, and only hearing voice patterns and about 3 words from Matt in Strood (Matt didn't hear me so that doesn't count as a contact), I said good night to all who could hear me and headed home.

Now to answer the 2 questions posed at the beginning of this episode of "Ray Review's".

Yes I did increase my contacts, in fact I doubled it from 1 to 2 contacts made.

Did I make it in the log? Maybe, I don't know.
