Hello & g'day to you

Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on the night of Thursday 28/05/2026

The net can be located on Channel 39 of the CEPT/FCC allocation and is Lower Side Band. It is scheduled to start at around 20:30 🕣 and finishes anytime from 23:00 🕙 onwards UK time

My working conditions is the battery 🔋 powered V3 Anytone AT-6666 (no amp no power mic) and a Solarcon A-99 antenna. My maximum output power is about 40 watts.

Location for the net was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex, were the weather was cool and cloudy and looking as if rain or a storm was on the horizon.

Hello & welcome

Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net, held on Thursday night 04/06/2026.

My set up was the older version 3 Anytone AT-6666 (no amp, no power mic), powered by a car battery 🔋 and pushing about 40 watts maximum out of a Solarcon A-99 antenna.

The net is held on channel 39 (27.395 MHz) on the CEPT/FCC part of the 11m band and uses LSB.

My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌲 Forest in the county of East Sussex or Maidenhead Locator JO-01-BB.

The net is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 UK time (19:30 UTC) and finishes anytime after 23:00 🕙 UK time (22:00 UTC)

The net can be found on FCC channel 39 LSB or 39 LSB Mid-Block and is scheduled to start at 20:30 UK/19:30 🕢 UTC and finishes anytime from 23:00 UK/22:00 🕙 UTC

My location was a wet, windy, misty Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex and my working condition was the old Anytone AT-6666 (no amp, no power mic) powered by a car battery 🔋 and the Solarcon A-99 antenna.

With these thoughts and questions being asked on the night, did the net run?

Yes it did, thanks to Jerry XR 41 who started it, John CT 4515 who run the middle and me, who finished the night off at about midnight.

Here is the report for the Southern Area & South Coast SSB Net held on Thursday 18th of June 2026.

My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌴 Forest in the county of East Sussex, Lat 51.0604 Lon 0.0940.
The weather on the night was cool & clear, giving Radio Corner a great view of the sunset and the Waxing Crescent Moon 🌒.

The net is held on channel 39 LSB CEPT/FFC/Mid-block and should start about 20:30 🕣 and finish anytime from 23:00 🕚 UK time

My working conditions on the night were the battery 🔋 powered, version 3 Anytone AT-6666 (no amp, no power mic), pushing a maximum of about 40 watts out of a Solarcon A-99 antenna.

Just for those who live life in the fast line and want everything now!

For those who like a read and, want to know a bit about the net, my working conditions and what goes into a Thursday night.

After working a 13 hour day due to staff holidays and a 40 minute drive, I arrived at Radio Corner sometime after 20:00 🕗 and set up my battery 🔋 powered Anytone AT-6666 and Solarcon/Antron A-99 antenna.
Radio Corner is located in Ashdown 🌲 Forest, East Sussex. This is approximately 33 miles or 53 km South from the centre of the capital, London.
The weather was warm, clear with a light breeze and a Waxing Gibbous Moon 🌔 shining down.

The net is held almost every Thursday night throughout the year and is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 and finish anytime from 23:00 🕚 UK time. It is held on channel 39 (27.395 MHz) CEPT/FCC or midblock and uses the mode of LSB.

The net is held on 27.395 MHz or channel 39 FCC/CEPT LSB and is scheduled to start at 20:30 🕣 UK time, although on this night I was late and the net started after 21:00 🕘. It finishes anytime from 23:00 🕚 onwards depending on the band conditions and stations still on.

My location was Radio Corner, Ashdown 🌳 Forest in the county of East Sussex and working conditions were the Anytone AT-6666, powered by a car battery 🔋, pushing a maximum of 40 watts out of a Solarcon/Antron A99 antenna.

The band conditions were strange, with stations reporting a reduction in signal strength but no change in audio quality. Was/has there been a solar flare?
